Featured Techie of the Week - Angie!
This month we are checking out the favorite web sites of all of our techies here at Time for Tech. This week it is Angie's turn.
Hey everyone, it's Angie here to tell you all about my favorite website, ancestry.com. If you don't already know, ancestry is a genealogy and family history site.
I love getting into my family history. Ancestry makes it so easy, even for a beginner. And as your research skills progress, Ancestry has even more in depth tools you can use.
You should start with their excellent family tree creator. It's easy and intuitive, and as you add people, little leaves pop up to give you hints on records that may be your ancestors. Word to the wise 💥ALERT!! 💥Be very careful in researching and vetting those hints! You need to verify that the person you are adding or adding information for is your ancestor!
Once you have your tree established, you can search census, military, property and immigration records to give your ancestors a story. You can connect with other members by message board, email, and instant messaging.
Ancestry has even more cool stuff to do! You can get a DNA test and see the breakdown of your heritage. You can even hire someone from Ancestry.com to help you with your family research.
Check out Ancestry at Ancestry.com.
